Mr. Larry F. England – Posted 4/8/2015

Dad 1 (16)crop for obitMSG (E-8) Larry F. England, USA (Ret.) 76, of Prince George County, passed away at 7:10 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2015.

Born in Spindale, North Carolina, he was the son of the late William Claude England Sr. and Birdie Dalton England. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Claude England Jr. and sisters, Louise Ramsey, Wanda Tate, and Dianne Beam. Larry served 21 ½ years in the Army. His tours of duty included Turkey, Korea, Germany, San Francisco, California, Atlanta, Savannah & Columbus, Georgia, and the Pentagon.

After retiring he worked for 21 years at Computer Science Corporation, formerly of Prince George County.

He served as a volunteer fire fighter for 20 years with Carson Volunteer Fire Department and during that time he attained the rank of Lieutenant.

He is also the founder of Carson Volunteer Fire Department Substation #3 on Crater Road. He was a member of Monumental Baptist Church where he served as deacon and on a number of committees.

Mr. England is survived by his wife of 54 years, Inez Toney England; three daughters, Debbie Lynn England, Dena England Patrick and husband, Stan of Prince George County, and Donna England Stout and husband, David of Decatur, Illinois; three grandchildren, Lindsay Patrick Mahoney and husband, Jay of Colonial Heights, Kristin Nicole Patrick and Ryan Austin Patrick of Prince George County; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Mahoney; two sisters, Jenell Blanton of Shelby North Carolina and Joyce Loveless of Lexington, South Carolina; a brother, Dr. Bobby England of Ellenboro, North Carolina; and numerous nieces & nephews.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Monumental Baptist Church, 2925 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Barry Ginn and Dr. Tom Lovorn officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with full military honors, and fire department honors provide by Carson Volunteer Fire Department.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Monumental Baptist Church Building Fund, Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
